If your Focus does any of these, it's almost always the cluster.
The Mk2 cluster is a known weak point. Its solder joints crack with heat and age, and its stepper motors wear. We repair the board itself rather than swapping in a second-hand unit, so nothing needs reprogramming.

Your cluster has to pass our test bench before it comes home.
We built our own diagnostic bench for these clusters. It talks to the cluster the way the car does, drives every gauge, and runs a 2-hour powered soak to catch faults that only show when warm. You get the report in the box.

Things people ask before posting.
Will my mileage change?
No. The mileage is stored in your cluster and stays exactly as it was. We record and photograph the odometer when it arrives and again before it leaves. We never alter mileage, and we refuse any request to.
Do I need the cluster coded to the car afterwards?
No. You get your own unit back, with your car's key and immobiliser data still in it. It plugs straight back in.
How do I take the cluster out?
On a Focus Mk2 it's a few screws behind the cluster surround trim, then unplug the connector. Most people do it in 15 minutes. Disconnect the battery first.
Can I drive while it's away?
Usually not. The cluster is part of the immobiliser on these cars, so most won't start without it. Plan for 4 to 6 days off the road, including postage both ways.
What if it's not the cluster?
If your cluster passes every bench test, we keep £25 for the testing, refund the rest and send it back with the report. That tells you or your garage to look elsewhere.
What does the warranty cover?
The fault we repaired, for life, while the cluster stays in the same car. If it comes back, we fix it again free, including return postage.
The short version.
The service. We repair your own cluster and return the same unit. Mileage, key data and coding are not changed.
Warranty. Lifetime on the repaired fault while fitted to the same car. Not covered: physical or water damage, the unit opened by someone else, or faults elsewhere in the car.
No fault found. £25 test fee plus return postage; the rest is refunded.
Cancelling. Cancel any time before work starts for a full refund. By posting your cluster you ask us to start within the 14-day cancellation period; once the repair is complete, the right to cancel ends.
Postage. You pay for and insure the trip to us. We pay for the tracked return and are responsible until it's delivered.
Beyond repair. If a unit is damaged beyond economic repair we contact you with options before doing anything.
Fitting. Removal and refitting are your responsibility; we are not liable for damage during fitting or for garage labour.
Your rights. These terms don't affect your statutory rights.
